2025-2026 TEA Testing Calendar
Soooooo……..the winter break is over and testing is on everyone’s mind in the state of Texas! But, when will all this testing actually occur!
You can read all about it in the
TEA Student Assessment Testing Calendar for 2025-2026
Let me highlight a few things in this year’s testing calendar!
Many of you may have heard of the “MAP” test or Measure of Academic Progress which usually occurs at the beginning, middle, and end of the year, but did you ever hear of the NAEP or National Assessment of Educational Progress? For a randomly selected sample of students, they may be participating in grade 4 or 8! It’s not administered every year and is overseen by the U.S. Department of Education (Not by the Texas Education Agency). You’ll be informed by your child’s school if your child is one of those randomly selected students! Note: NAEP appears on this school year’s TEA testing calendar!
Is your student identified as an Emergent Bilingual (EB) student? If so, he/she will most likely be participating in the TELPAS (Texas English Language Proficiency System) this spring. You’ll see that this year’s testing window spans a full 39 calendar days! This means your child will be testing sometime during those allowable days!
The STAAR testing window spans from April 6th through May 1st this year! Check the TEA testing calendar to know when your child will be expected to be sitting for those tests in their given grade! Have the following in mind, however: The “testing window” refers to an allowable time frame provided to school districts for administration of those tests, so always check with your child’s school for specific dates chosen by their district from within those testing window dates for a more accurate view on exactly when your child will be testing in their specific subject areas!
Finally, this year’s TEA testing calendar gives you a tentative date by which you can expect results to be available after your child has tested! Take a look and see!
Happy reading, everyone!
